Dear Camp SOAR Families,

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Camp SOAR 2026 has been canceled.

Due to lower-than-anticipated registration numbers and several other factors beyond our control, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our inaugural collaborative summer camp in Florida. This was not a decision we made lightly. Over the past several weeks, our team has invested countless hours praying, planning, training, and preparing to provide an unforgettable experience for every camper.

We recognize the disappointment and inconvenience this news may cause your family, and we sincerely apologize. We understand that many of you were looking forward to this experience, and we share in your disappointment.

All registered campers will receive a full refund of all camp registration fees. Refunds will begin processing next week and will be issued using the original method of payment whenever possible. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently through this process.

Additionally, we recognize that some families may have already purchased airline tickets or secured lodging accommodations in preparation for camp. If your family has incurred travel-related expenses as a result of Camp SOAR’s cancellation, please contact us directly at ebanks@scc-sda.org. To help expedite the review process, please email copies of your travel receipts and any supporting documentation to scrayton@scc-sda.org. Our team will carefully review your situation and work with you to make you whole to the best of our ability.

Although we are deeply saddened that Camp SOAR will not take place this summer, we remain committed to providing meaningful ministry opportunities for our young people. We humbly ask for your continued prayers, support, and encouragement as we look ahead to making Camp Thunderbird 2027 an incredible success.
