Our Mission and Purpose
As Christians we believe it is important to follow Christ’s example. When he walked this earth he not only taught he also fed the hungry, healed the sick, and gave the blind sight. His sole purpose was to help humanity and here at South Central we follow that same pattern. Our goal is to assist those in need, provide life instructions, and be the shining light that God has called us to be.
South Central Conference, is headquarters for the ministry of Seventh-day Adventists in the states of Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi and the portion of Florida lying west of the Apalachicola River. This conference comprises of more than 29,000 members in 146 congregations. We are one of eight conferences located in the Southern Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
Seventh-day Adventist beliefs are meant to permeate your whole life. Growing out of scriptures that paint a compelling portrait of God, you are invited to explore, experience and know the One who desires to make us whole.
Our Beliefs & Values
Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as the only source of our beliefs. We consider our movement to be the result of the Protestant conviction Sola Scriptura—the Bible as the only standard of faith and practice for Christians.
God is love, power, and splendor—and God is a mystery. His ways are far beyond us, but He still reaches out to us. God is infinite yet intimate, three yet one, all-knowing yet all-forgiving.
God’s law in the Ten Commandments shows us how to live and make clear our need for Jesus. Though the law shows us the path to follow and convicts us of sin, it’s about far more than just toeing the line.
